On successful completion of the course, the graduate will be able to:

  1. Employ critical thinking and the best available evidence in making decisions that guide safe, quality nursing practice within person-centred, evidence-based and cultural safety frameworks.
  2. Establish and maintain effective therapeutic and professional relationships and advocate for others in a context of healthcare and based on mutual trust, respect and collegial partnerships.
  3. Critically appraise own nursing practice to ensure they are safe, capable practitioners, who conduct ongoing self-management and respond  to concerns about other health professionals’ capability for practice.
  4. Demonstrate responsibility and accountability for their professional development and contribute to the development of others, including the provision of information and education that enable people to make decisions and take action in relation to their health.
  5. Conduct comprehensive and systematic assessments, including the analysis of information, data and outcomes as the basis for practice.
