Course pre-requisites

Current enrolment in Year 5 of the ÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery pass degree (honours study will be part-time and concurrent with pass degree), and achievement of a minimum grade point average of 5.0 (i.e. credit average) in each of the years 2, 3 and 4 of the MBBS course (excluding year 3 selective subject).

Minimum English Language Proficiency Requirements

Applicants of non-English speaking backgrounds must meet the English language proficiency requirements of Band 1 – Schedule II of the JCU Admissions Policy.

Students also need to take note that in accordance with the National Registration Board’s requirement, they must hold a valid IELTS (academic module) minimum score of 7.0 in all components within 2 years prior to applying for registration

Additional selection requirements

A quota may be imposed on the number of students accepted for entry to the honours program depending on the availability of supervisors.

Information published by JCU or otherwise made available to students when applying, may specify additional criteria to be considered in ranking applicants in order of merit if the number of applications exceeds a quota or other limit on the places made available for the course.  Information provided by applicants during the application process and any other information obtained by JCU in the application process may be used by JCU to rank applicants in order of merit by reference to those additional criteria.

Upon successful completion of the course, graduates will be able to:
