We are pleased to announce that Dr. Lydia Canovas Saiz has joined the Center for International Trade and Business in Asia (CITBA) as our new Industry Consultant. Dr. Canovas Saiz is a distinguished Economist with a Master of Entrepreneurial Innovation (MEI) and a PhD specializing in innovation, entrepreneurship, and investment operations. Her career spans over 15 years of initiating and managing businesses, and her expertise bridges the gap between entrepreneurs and investors in Europe and Australia.

Currently serving as a Senior Growth Advisor for Smart Precinct NQ, an innovation hub based in North Queensland, Australia, Dr. Canovas Saiz is deeply committed to advancing innovation and entrepreneurship. Her role includes mentoring, which is sponsored by the Townsville City Council, overseeing the QLD Circular Economy Industry & Research Program by DESI, and coordinating significant events such as investor introductions and pitch events.

Moreover, Dr. Canovas Saiz is instrumental in designing and delivering pivotal workshops and accelerator programs including "Dare To Think Big" and "Dare To Think Circular." She also leads the Founders Advisory Board, offering essential peer-to-peer support that nurtures the growth of emerging leaders in the business and innovation sectors.

We look forward to the innovative approaches and entrepreneurial spirit Dr. Canovas Saiz will bring to our centre.

We are excited to welcome Ben Archer as the newest PhD student joining our Centre. Ben comes to us with a rich background as an experienced educator, specializing in career development, educational contexts, and management. His expertise spans workforce development, educational attainment, and lifelong learning, making him a valuable addition to our academic community.

Ben's research interests are focused on exploring how education influences work outcomes across geographically diverse areas. His work aims to uncover the nuances of educational impact on career trajectories and workforce readiness in different regional contexts.

As he embarks on his PhD journey with us, Ben plans to delve deeper into these themes, seeking to contribute valuable insights that could shape educational policies and practices aimed at enhancing work outcomes. His passion for understanding and improving the intersection between education and career development will drive his research agenda.

We look forward to the fresh perspectives and dedicated research he will bring to the field.

We would like to inform our readers and contributors that the Journal of Resilient Economies (JRE) website is currently down. We are aware of this issue; the site became unavailable due to a security incident that occurred last Friday. Our Technology Solutions team is actively investigating to assess the damage and to implement measures to prevent such incidents in the future. We anticipate that the investigation and necessary repairs will conclude by the end of this week.

Understanding the timing of our call for special issues in July, we are taking steps to ensure that all our contributors can submit their work without disadvantage due to the website downtime. To this end, we will be granting extensions for submissions to accommodate all potential contributors during this period.

In the interim, we will set up a static landing page for the Journal of Resilient Economies. This temporary page will provide essential information about the journal and include updated contact details to assist you with any queries or submissions.

Welcome to the Centre for International Trade and Business in Asia (CITBA) community! As we begin a new year, we are excited to embark on a journey of active collaboration, research, and engagement. CITBA's mission is to create a platform for academics, researchers, practitioners, and students to disseminate their findings and engage with global experts in the field of international trade and business.

Throughout the year, we will be organising a variety of workshops, international conferences, and other events to provide opportunities for our members to share their research, gain new insights, and network with others in the field.
