Admission Requirements

Course pre-requisites

Completion of an AQF Level 7 bachelor degree in dentistry from this, or another university, within the previous 5 years; and

achievement of an overall grade point average of 5.0 (i.e. credit average) across their undergraduate degree and/or a grade point average of 5.0 in the Level 4 of their undergraduate degree

or

Current enrolment in Level 5 of the 六合彩开奖结果 Bachelor of Dental Surgery pass degree; and

achievement of an overall grade point average of 5.0 (i.e. credit average) in each Levels 2, 3 and 4 of their undergraduate degree.

Minimum English language proficiency requirements

Applicants of non-English speaking backgrounds must meet the English language proficiency requirements of Band 3bSchedule II of the JCU Admissions Policy.

Students also need to take note that in accordance with the National Registration Board’s requirement, they must hold a valid IELTS (academic module) minimum score of 7.0 in all components within 2 years prior to applying for registration

Additional selection requirements

Application for entry to the program is by approval of the College Dean.

Quota restrictions on the number of honours places available may apply from time to time as determined by the College Dean.

Information published by JCU or otherwise made available to students when applying, may specify additional criteria to be considered in ranking applicants in order of merit if the number of applications exceeds a quota or other limit on the places made available for the course.  Information provided by applicants during the application process and any other information obtained by JCU in the application process may be used by JCU to rank applicants in order of merit by reference to those additional criteria.

Depending on the area of research and/or professional experience placement activities, students must comply with the relevant mandatory pre-placement requirements of the University and the Host facility. Students who enrol in Level 5 of the JCU BDS program will be required to complete the requirements of the BDS program before the BDS (Honours) will be awarded.

Course learning outcomes

Following successful completion of Bachelor of Dental Surgery (Honours), graduates will be able to:

Students can commence any time within 5 years of completing a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree to the required academic standard at either this or another University.

Part-time

Students can commence any time after successfully completing Level 4 of the JCU Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree to the required academic standard (study will be concurrent with Level 5 of the JCU Bachelor of Dental Surgery pass degree) or any time within 5 years of completing a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree to the required academic standard at either this or another University.
